CHIP BREIER: GEOCHEMISTRY & ENVIRONMENTAL ROBOTICS

I develop custom instrumentation achieve my science goals. I see autonomous and remotely operated vehicles and sensor installations as a means of overcoming the temporal and spatial limitations of traditional ship based methods. I believe these tools will be increasingly used in the future because of the novel datasets they enable. The SUPR Sampler and the Mat Sampler are two of the most mature tools that I have developed. Clio is a recently funded concept vehicle underdevelopment. Its purpose is to facilitate the global mapping of marine microorganisms and biogeochemistry.
